Hungarian Library News – April

Dear Friends,

The real spring is still hiding from us, but we can’t let the cold, rainy weather take a toll on us. If we have a good read, we can even face this gray spring. We hope that you all have a book that makes waiting for the real spring easier. If you don’t, please don’t hesitate to visit our online catalog launched on March 15th. You can browse almost 400 titles. Among our newest acquisitions you can find contemporary children’s books, a young adult book from an American author in Hungarian and contemporary Hungarian authors.

The Association celebrated the commemoration of the Revolution and War of Independence of 1848 with an online program. The Hungarian Library Group participated with a reading from the book „A kőszívű ember fiai” (Sons of a Man with a Heart of Stone) by Mór Jókai which was accompanied by a slide show.

We have a logo! Our friend, graphic designer Judit Pulay dreamt up the new library logo which was inspired by her love of reading and the rough beauty of the Pacific Northwest.

We held a “Trunk with Books” event in March, too. We were very pleased to realize that the news of the Hungarian Library is spreading slowly but surely. We ask you too to spread the news and use the library!

“Trunk with Books” event will also be held in April, the dates are April 10th and April 24th. Please watch out for our newsletters and social media sites as we might have a change of venue.

Hope to see you there!

Keep on reading!
