It was nice to see that lot of us were able to come out to the Annual Hungarian Picnic at Lake Sammamish park. Many of us have attended this traditional picnic for years and years. For some it was their first time, even though they moved to Seattle a few years ago. Also we had quite a few new members who came to us through the school or our scouts.
Hopefully you all met some fellow Hungarians, enjoy snacks, hot dogs and had a nice time. I really hope you got to talk to some of your fellow members and learn about the great programs we have in our area: The Hungarian school, Scouts, Forgatos folk dance group, Library and got to see the glimpse of the property in Cle Elum being developed. If you have not, definitely feel free to reach out; we will connect you to the program in which you are interested.
I’m very thankful for the volunteers that made this picnic successful; the events committee, the membership committee, the book club, the Orban family for baking the wonderful bread, and members who helped in setting up and cleaning up!
We have great events coming up for the year and if you are interested in volunteering here and there, please let us know. We will add your name to a special list and contact you when the time comes.
